Vinicius de Castro is an associate in the Employment & Benefits practice of Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown in the São Paulo office. He has experience with labor and employment advisory, social security advisory, strategic labor litigation before executive branches and labor courts in Brazil, as well as social security litigation before the National Institute of Social Security.
Vinicius has more than 8 years of experience representing national and international companies from a vast number of sector, such as pharmaceutical, banking, educational, capital markets, technology, energy, oil & gas, amongst others. His experience includes the preparation of legal opinions, drafting and revision of employment contracts and officer engagement agreements.
He has experience in the analysis and revision of stock option plans, draft, revision and negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, union reframing of companies, revision of internal human resources policies and profit sharing plans. Participation in corporate transactions (M&A, IPO, amongst others), with preparation of reports and opinions referring to the labor and employment practice, as well as review of offering memorandums and adaptation of labor practices to mitigate the labor risks involved in the operations.
He also has experience in conducting and managing lawsuits and administrative labor procedures, including Civil Class Actions, Writ of Mandamus and administrative procedures conducted by the Ministry of Economy and the Labor Prosecutor’s Office.
- Vinicius is part of the team who represents the largest private natural gas operator in the country (Eneva S.A) in a Civil Class Action filed by the Labor Prosecutor’s Office, Public Defense Office of the State of Amazonas and the Public Prosecutor of the State of Amazonas, which involves the continuity of activities in the Campo do Azulão site during the pandemic of the new coronavirus, which project has an investment of approximately R $ 1.1 billion.
- Vinicius analyzed the labor liabilities involved in the process of acquiring control of Eletropaulo by Enel, which became the largest electricity distributor in the country after an investment of R $ 5.5 billion in the operation.
