Mira is Assistant Director of Diversity & Inclusion at Mayer Brown LLP. Mira is based in Mayer Brown’s New York City office and works with the Director of Diversity & Inclusion, Jeremiah A. DeBerry on ensuring that Mayer Brown fulfills its commitment to enhancing diversity in the legal profession. She supports all aspects of the firm’s efforts to recruit, hire, develop and promote diverse and women lawyers, and to continuously build a more inclusive culture.
Mira has 11 years of experience in the legal profession: as a transactional lawyer in an international law firm, a General Counsel of a mid-sized technology company, and a diversity & inclusion consultant. Mira is a recognized expert and thought leader on organizational change, particularly in the legal profession. She has been an Adjunct Professor of ethics, workplace diversity, and inclusive leadership at New York University since 2017.
Mira delivers training programs on topics including unconscious bias; leading diverse teams; cross-cultural communications; thriving as a diverse associate during Covid-19; and most recently, inclusive practices for the virtual environment. She has been featured as a business ethics expert by Ethical Systems and she’s a member of the Association of Law Firm Diversity Professionals. In 2020, the Diversity & Inclusion team at Mayer Brown received the inaugural Diversity Team Award from Profiles in Diversity Journal, which recognizes the talented and dedicated professionals whose work supports and advances diversity and inclusion within their respective organizations.
Mira is also committed to having an impact outside of her formal role. In her personal capacity, she serves on the board of directors of the Kupona Foundation, which mobilizes resources to improve healthcare for marginalized women and children in East Africa. She also serves on the board of directors of Ethical Systems, a collaborative think tank created by Jonathan Haidt that brings together 30 top researchers and experts to foster greater integrity and ethics in corporate America.
