Overview
Joanne De Silva is a partner in Mayer Brown’s Banking & Finance practice and is part of the Private Credit group. She represents private credit funds, business development companies, and other institutional investors in complex financing transactions. These include unitranche, first and second lien, and senior and subordinated debt investments. Her areas of focus include acquisition, recapitalization, cash flow, and asset-based financings. She also advises clients on debtor-in-possession and exit financings and debt restructurings.
Joanne is qualified to practice New York and English law. She was previously admitted as a solicitor in Singapore, where her practice comprised cross-border financing. She is based in the New York office.

- Represented a leading alternative investment management firm as administrative agent and lender in senior secured credit facilities to support the acquisition by a private equity firm of a market leading distributor of bakery ingredients.
- Represented an asset management firm as lead arranger, administrative agent, and lender in senior secured credit facilities to support the acquisition by a private equity firm of a waste management company with recycling and landfill capabilities.
- Represented a direct lending finance company as sole lead arranger, administrative agent, and lender in incremental senior secured credit facilities to support the equity recapitalization of a private equity firm-owned portfolio company providing car haul logistics to original equipment manufacturers and remarketed customers.
- Represented an asset manager as lender in senior secured credit facilities to support the acquisition by two private equity firms of a provider of advanced technology solutions in the shipping and distribution industries.
- Represented a private credit fund as a lender in senior secured credit facilities to support the refinancing of existing debt of a market leading provider of refractory, mechanical, and specialty services.
- Represented a private credit fund as a lender in senior secured credit facilities to support an innovative information technology service and solutions provider.
