Jerel Dawson is an associate in Mayer Brown’s Chicago office and a member of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. Jerel received his A.B. in Political Science from the University of Chicago, graduating with general honors. He received his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law (Boalt Hall). While there, he served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Jerel was also active in Berkeley’s trial advocacy program, winning the Bales Trial Competition in 2013 and the American Bar Association Labor & Employment Trial Advocacy Competition in 2015.

Prior to attending law school, Jerel worked as an intern for the Illinois Senate Democratic Caucus through the Illinois Legislative Staff Intern Program. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois, and is a member of the American Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association.
