Overview

George Carr is an associate in the Pensions practice of the London office, having started his training with Mayer Brown in September 2015 and qualifying in September 2017. During his training contract, George spent six months on secondment at Wells Fargo Bank. 

Since joining the Pensions group, George has advised trustees on a broad range of issues in connection with both DB and DC arrangements and has also regularly assisted on the pensions aspects of corporate transactions. George regularly advises on the governing documentation of schemes and interpreting pensions legislation and has experience of liaising with the Pensions Ombudsman in relation to member complaints. He has also been responsible for providing advice to the trustees of two schemes with assets in excess of £2 billion in relation to their compliance with GDPR and other data protection legislation. George is also an active member of the cross-disciplinary risk transfer practice and has advised pensions trustees on pensions de-risking transactions, including entering into bulk annuity policies.
