Carissa Cruse is an associate in Mayer Brown's New York office and a member of the Corporate & Securities practice.
Carissa earned her JD from Georgetown Law where she was a Senior Staff Editor and Member of the Executive Editor Committee on the Georgetown Food & Drug Law Journal. Carissa’s Note, titled Food Fraud and the Food Drug and Cosmetic Act: Bridging a Disconnect, was published in the Journal in Spring 2019 and can be accessed here. Additionally, Carissa served as the Evening Class Delegate on the Student Bar Association for two years and was a member of the Class Gift Committee.
Prior to attending law school, Carissa worked for a national food broker in Houston, Texas as a Customer Advisor Analyst. She analyzed and forecasted trends for major food manufacturers and national grocery store chains in the consumer-packaged goods industry. Carissa worked as a legal intern for the Honorable Jeff Bohm (US Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Texas) and for the Honorable Brett Busby (14th Court of Appeals) who now serves on the Texas Supreme Court. She also interned at the US Securities and Exchange Commission, was a legal fellow for Congressman Filemon Vela, and interned at Neighborhood Legal Services Program in Washington DC.
Carissa is familiar with Python computer programming.
