Overview

Marcus Bolinder is a partner in Mayer Brown's Houston office and a member of the Corporate & Securities, Private Equity and Global Energy practices. He represents public and private companies, investors, and management teams in public and private capital transactions, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and other complex commercial matters. He has extensive experience involving actions required to comply with US securities laws and regulations, equity and debt securities offerings, and corporate structure.

Marcus is a versatile corporate transactional lawyer with more than 15 years of experience advising directors, executive officers, and employees in corporate finance, compliance, disclosure, governance obligations and procedures, and a broad range of other commercial transactions, including contracts, licenses, executive compensation, and financing. His oil and gas experience includes upstream exploration and production, midstream operations, oilfield services, acquisitions and divestitures of businesses and assets, and the negotiation of exploration, drilling, production, operating, transportation, processing and storage agreements and other contracts commonly used in the domestic and international energy sectors.

Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Marcus served as Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary for a specialty provider of workers’ compensation insurance in the US and as Associate General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Carrizo Oil & Gas, Inc., a Houston-based energy company engaged in exploration, development, and production of US oil and gas resource plays.
