Overview
Laura J. Billiter is an associate in Mayer Brown’s Chicago office and a member of the Corporate & Securities practice. Her practice involves the representation of issuers, underwriters, agents, and sponsors in a wide range of SEC-registered and exempt offerings of equity and debt securities. She additionally advises public companies on securities law reporting and compliance and general corporate governance matters.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Laura practiced as a capital markets associate at another global law firm in Chicago, where she advised issuers on initial public offerings, registered equity offerings and business combinations with special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs). Laura previously worked in public relations and served as a spokesperson for a publicly-listed airline in national and local media.
Laura earned her JD, cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School, where she was a member of the Latino Law Student Association and worked as a student writer penning feature stories for the Law School’s website. She earned her BA, summa cum laude in Communications from California State University, Fullerton.
