Overview
Niyati is a Foreign Qualified Lawyer in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice in Mayer Brown’s Frankfurt office. She advices clients in commercial and investment arbitration. Her sectors of focus are – telecom, infrastructure, construction and plant construction projects.
Before joining Mayer Brown, Niyati worked as Foreign Qualified Lawyer with a Paris based boutique arbitration law firm specialising in international dispute resolution.
Previously, she has worked for the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, Paris and a leading dispute resolution firm in India.
Niyati holds a law degree from the University of Delhi and LL.M. from Sciences Po, Paris in Transnational Arbitration and Dispute Settlement.

Acting as counsel in international arbitrations; and acting as tribunal assistant in international commercial arbitrations.*
- Counsel to an Eastern European State in an UNCITRAL investment arbitration relating to the movie industry based on the applicable BIT.
- Counsel to a South American Country in an ICSID investment arbitration relating to a claim for denial of justice brought by a UK based bank on the basis of the applicable BIT.
- Counsel for an Italian telecom company in a LCIA arbitration arising out of a joint-venture agreement. Successful representation before the arbitral tribunal and in subsequent enforcement proceedings before the Supreme Court of India.
- Tribunal Assistant in an ICC arbitration between an international software company and CIS state concerning license agreement.
