Mayer Brown partner Raj De was named the 2022 “Private Sector Trailblazer of the Year” by the South Asian Bar Association (SABA) of Washington DC. He was selected for demonstrating “extraordinary accomplishments” and “sustained excellence” in the private sector.
Mr. De is a member of the firm’s global Management Committee, leads the firm’s global Cybersecurity & Data Privacy and National Security practices and is a member of the Congressional Investigations & Crisis Management team. He focuses his practice on cutting-edge legal and policy issues at the nexus of technology, national security, law enforcement and privacy.
After nearly two decades in private practice and public service across all three branches of the US government, Mr. De is one of the most trusted voices in Washington. He has held senior appointments in the White House, the Department of Justice and the Department of Defense. Before rejoining Mayer Brown in 2015, he served as General Counsel at the US National Security Agency.
Mr. De, a vocal advocate for diversity in the legal community, serves on SABA North America’s advisory council and is recognized as one of “Washington’s Most Influential People” by Washingtonian magazine. He serves in a variety of leadership roles in the legal community, including as a member of the board for the Southern Center for Human Rights as well as for the Legal Aid Society of Washington DC.
