Mayer Brown announced that the firm had received the Distinguished Pro Bono Law Firm Award and the Silver Law Firm Award at the Law Society of Hong Kong's 2020 Pro Bono and Community Service award presentation ceremony, which was held recently.

The Distinguished Pro Bono Law Firm Award recognizes law firms with outstanding contributions to pro bono services between July 2019 and June 2020. The recipients of this important award were selected by a panel of distinguished judges. The Silver Law Firm Award was presented to law firms for providing pro bono services exceeding a certain number of pro bono hours based on the number of lawyers between July 2019 and June 2020.

"A huge thank you to the Law Society of Hong Kong for recognizing our unwavering commitment to pro bono and community services during this challenging year," said Terence Tung, senior partner of Mayer Brown in Asia. "I am truly proud and honored to be leading a firm with lawyers and staff who, despite the challenging environment, were undeterred from contributing to assist the disadvantaged and the organizations that serve them. A heartfelt thank you to all of them! In addition to the law firm awards, a total of 26 Mayer Brown lawyers were presented with the Gold, Silver and Bronze individual awards for their pro bono services this year. Congratulations to all!”

The annual Pro Bono and Community Service Award, which is part of the Pro Bono and Community Work Recognition Program of the Law Society of Hong Kong, is a respected industry event that shows appreciation for and recognition of Law Society members, both individual legal professionals and firms.
