Mayer Brown advises on two “Infrastructure Financing of the Year” deals at LatinFinance’s 2020 Project & Infrastructure Finance Awards

Mayer Brown advised on two transactions named “Infrastructure Financing of the Year” in the Caribbean and Central America categories in LatinFinance’s 2020 Project & Infrastructure Finance Awards. The annual awards recognize “the most impressive transactions and institutions in a field critical to the region's economic progress.” The winning transactions are:

Infrastructure Financing of the Year – Caribbean: Trans-Jamaican Highway

Mayer Brown represented UBS, as underwriter, in a US$225 million Rule 144A/Reg S bond offering by TransJamaican Highway (TJH). TJH is the concession holder for the operation and maintenance of the Highway 2000 East West toll road. The bonds were issued in connection with a simultaneous IPO of the shares of TJH, which was the largest IPO in Jamaican history.

Infrastructure Financing of the Year – Central America: Energía del Pacífico

Mayer Brown represented Invenergy Thermal Development LLC, as sponsor, and Energía del Pacífico, Ltda. de C.V., as project company, in the structuring and negotiation of the joint venture for, and the development of, the Energía del Pacífico Project in El Salvador. This project involves a new 378MW natural gas-fired power plant and a liquefied natural gas receiving, regasification and storage terminal to be located at Port of Acajutla in El Salvador, under long-term PPAs awarded by local electric utilities in El Salvador.
