London — Mayer Brown has strengthened its transactional real estate capabilities with the addition of Simon Price, who will join the firm as a partner in the Real Estate practice in London. In September, Simon will join Mayer Brown from Linklaters, where he is a partner and co-leader of the global funds and financial investor group and co-leader of the real estate sector group.

Simon has a wealth of corporate real estate market experience, including investment platforms, joint ventures, and the acquisition and disposal of real estate assets and holding structures. He advises on the full range of contractual-related real estate work, including leases, management and developments. In addition, he has acted on a number of high profile lettings. Simon's practice has a particular focus on the hotel sector, where he acts for investors, developers and funders on hotel and branded residences transactions, and operator and franchise agreements.

"Real estate is a real strength and key practice area for us at Mayer Brown,” said Chris Harvey, the UK head of Real Estate at Mayer Brown. "The continuing expansion of our capabilities in Europe is a priority and Simon will be a valuable addition to the team. He is a talented lawyer with impressive transactional experience, particularly in the hotel and leisure sector."

Sally Davies, London senior partner at Mayer Brown, said: “Adding Simon, an exceptionally talented lawyer, to our team further strengthens the corporate real estate services that we provide our clients. There are great synergies between his areas of expertise and our corporate practice, particularly in the area of private equity, which we are focused on developing.”
