In Memoriam - Scott Davis

Share

Scott joined Mayer Brown’s Chicago office in 1977 after earning his law degree from Harvard Law School and serving as a clerk for Judge Luther Swygert of the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. He became a partner in our Litigation practice in 1983 and switched mid-career to our Corporate & Securities practice, where he was lead lawyer on some of the country’s largest and most important mergers and acquisitions. He served for many years as a firm practice leader in our Corporate practice and was a treasured mentor to many of our lawyers.

Following his retirement from the Firm in 2016, Scott became the first adjunct professor to be named a full-time faculty member at the University of Chicago Law School, where he continued to teach until his retirement last year.
