London — Mayer Brown announced today that fund finance lawyer Aimee Sharman has joined its Banking & Finance practice in London as a partner, where she is also a member of the firm’s global fund finance team. Aimee was previously at Hogan Lovells.

"Aimee is a talented, established lawyer in the fund finance market, and we are delighted to welcome her to the team," said Dominic Griffiths, London partner and co-head of Mayer Brown's global Banking & Finance practice. "The continued expansion of our fund finance capabilities is a key priority for the firm given our strategic focus on the global finance market and financial institutions. We are investing for growth in the main markets in which our clients operate and, following the addition of Tram Nguyen to our fund formation practice in Washington DC, we continue to bring in the very best talent to achieve our firmwide goal of serving all aspects of the private funds and investment management industry. Aimee's arrival supports this vision.”

Aimee has a broad practice representing both borrowers and lenders on a wide range of fund finance products and related transactions, including subscription facilities, bridge financing, general partner support and co-investment structures, asset-backed and hybrid facilities, fund of funds financing and preferred equity solutions. She brings more than a decades’ experience of the funds market.

Mayer Brown's New York-based global Head of Fund Finance, Ann Richardson Knox, said: "We have a preeminent fund and fund finance practice and in response to the growth of the industry we continue to expand the team globally. Aimee has impressive experience representing banks and funds in various fund financings. Her arrival enables us to build on our team in London and further enhance our European finance offering."

"Our clients look to us for advice on their most complex transactions and Aimee's extensive experience navigating fund structuring issues and finding creative solutions will add further strength to our existing team both in London, where she is well known, and across the rest of Europe," said Sally Davies, Mayer Brown's senior partner in London. "Aimee will also be reunited with Paul Tannenbaum, having worked with him for a number of years at previous firms."

Aimee Sharman said: “I am thrilled to have joined the Mayer Brown global fund finance team, which has an outstanding reputation in the market. The firm’s focus and commitment to growth in this sector is also incredibly attractive to me and my clients. I look forward to working with new and former colleagues with a shared drive for doing excellent work.”
