“Luiz Gustavo is returning to the firm’s Environmental practice group, which he helped establish, structure and run until 2014,” said Alexandre Chequer, the managing partner of Tauil & Chequer. “I am sure that the synergy between our respected team – which includes renowned professionals Paulo de Bessa and Vilmar Gonçalves – and the group brought by Luiz Gustavo will add much value to our clients. Our environmental capabilities are substantially enhanced, with exceptional critical mass and focus on finding solutions for our clients."
“I am more than happy to be back home, where I had the chance to consolidate my career and contribute to a few of the largest cases in the environmental and the oil & gas areas,” said Mr. Bezerra. “Our new and expanded team is ready to bring top-shelf legal advice to our clients in Brazil and throughout Mayer Brown’s global network.”
