Mayer Brown has been included in the IFLR1000 Specialist Guide 2019, which identified and profiled just 50 law firms globally with areas of focus in the law that are rare in the markets in which they operate. The law firms were selected among thousands through an extensive research and interview process.

Mayer Brown was the only law firm in Hong Kong selected for high-yield bonds. The guide noted the firm's "strong reputation globally in advising issuers and underwriters on high-yield bond offerings."

Corporate & Securities partner Jason T. Elder commented: “We are delighted to receive this recognition from IFLR1000.  It represents another testimony of our success in not only handling the complex and innovative high yield matters, but also our efforts in contributing to the evolution of the expanding Asia-Pacific high yield market. We are proud to be our clients’ trusted advisors and will continue to work with the other key stakeholders to further develop this market.”

The guide also concluded, "Mayer Brown excels in this specialism as it has the largest number of bilingual capital markets lawyers primarily focused on high-yield; a deep-rooted presence in Asia and long term client relationships across many practice areas; and is deeply committed to market education while nurturing a service-oriented mentality towards its product."
