London – Mayer Brown is one of nine law firms in the UK to be awarded the Gold Standard Certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF), for its promotion of women to the highest level within the partnership.

The inaugural UK Gold Standard Certification recognizes firms with 100 or more lawyers that meet a minimum of three out of five criteria measuring the number of women at equity partner level, their compensation, diversity and involvement in governance committees.

"We are delighted to be recognized by the WILEF for the level of UK female representation within our governance committees, practice leadership and equity partnership,” said Annette Sheridan, Global Chief Human Resources Officer at Mayer Brown. “We have a number of initiatives that support the development and advancement of our female lawyers, including mentoring, coaching and a host of women in leadership events through our Women’s Network. All our leaders, both male and female, play an important role championing further change and we look forward to building on the progress that we are making to develop our female lawyers at every stage of their career."

"Achieving the WILEF Gold Standard means a great deal to us at Mayer Brown and we are proud of our efforts to create a culture where everyone feels included and can achieve their full potential. The progression of women to the highest levels remains a priority and is one of the hallmarks of a successful, diverse business," said Sally Davies, London Senior Partner at Mayer Brown.
