Mayer Brown won the “Transatlantic Investigations Team of the Year” at Legal Week’s Transatlantic Legal Awards 2019. The firm was also shortlisted in the “Transatlantic M&A Team of the Year (Mega Deal)” category.

Mayer Brown was jointly recognized with Debevoise & Plimpton and Skadden for securing a settlement for French bank Société Générale in connection with investigations by the US Department of Justice and the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission into allegations of alleged LIBOR manipulation. The firms resolved these investigations jointly with an anti-corruption investigation that included France’s Parquet National Financier. The Mayer Brown team was led by Litigation & Dispute Resolution partners Steve Wolowitz and Hank Bullock (both New York).

Winners of the Transatlantic Legal Awards were judged by a panel of senior editors and reporters from The American Lawyer and Legal Week. The awards recognize firms, lawyers and in-house legal departments for their work “spanning the world's two largest and most fiercely competitive markets.”
