Mayer Brown announced today that Restructuring, Bankruptcy & Insolvency counsel Craig Reimer received an “Award for Excellence in Pro Bono Service” from the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Chicago chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
As part of the 20th annual Excellence in Pro Bono and Public Interest Service Awards, Chicago-area attorneys are recognized for their contributions in helping people most in need of assistance before the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Mr. Reimer was recognized for his work in representing a defendant and his company against the US government on a pro bono basis. For nearly two and half years, Mr. Reimer represented the defendant through discovery, settlement conferences, court appearances and protracted negotiations with the Department of Justice, ultimately securing an extremely favorable settlement.
