Mayer Brown is proud to announce its support for Earth Hour 2019 in Hong Kong. This is the 13th year the firm has honored its pledge to support the global green movement in the city.

On Saturday, March 30, the firm switched off non-essential  lights and electrical appliances across offices and encouraged staff to do the same in their homes for a one-hour period in the evening. As an additional pledge this year, the firm also supported Earth Hour by switching off the lights illuminating the Mayer Brown advertising billboard in Central, Hong Kong, which showcases the firm's transformation from a regional powerhouse to a distinctively global law firm.

Earth Hour is the largest annual green movement organized by WWF. About 7,000 companies, schools and individuals honor Earth Hour each year.

Mayer Brown has a strong commitment to environmental sustainability. Some of the initiatives it has implemented include minimizing its environmental footprint, such as the installation of energy-saving lighting system and sensor taps, the use of fully-recyclable fixtures in its Hong Kong office, reduction of plastic and paper usage, and serving sustainable seafood and fair trade coffee in the conference center.  The firm has been recognized for promoting environmental practices and management in the workplace through various awards, including from the Hong Kong Green Organization (HKGO).
