Mayer Brown announced that its Supreme Court & Appellate practice has been named one of the best in the United States by The National Law Journal (NLJ) for the 11th consecutive year.

In its prestigious 2018 Appellate Hot List, the NLJ recognized Mayer Brown among 22 lawyers and law firms. Mayer Brown has been selected to the list in each year it has been published.

In its profile of Mayer Brown’s appellate accomplishments in 2017-2018, the NLJ highlighted the firm’s win on behalf of the National Association of Manufacturers in National Association of Manufacturers v. U.S. Department of Defense. In this 9-0 victory, the Supreme Court ruled that challenges to US Environmental Protection Agency rules belong in district courts, not courts of appeals. The case was argued by partner Timothy Bishop (Chicago), who has argued seven cases and briefed more than 80 before the US Supreme Court.

In selecting firms for the 2018 Appellate Hot List, the NLJ asked readers to nominate firms with at least one significant appellate win since January 2017 and impressive track records overall.
