Mayer Brown announced today that Litigation & Dispute Resolution partner Dale Giali (Los Angeles) was named a 2017 “Litigation Trailblazer” by The National Law Journal (NLJ). The list recognizes 25 individuals who “helped make a difference in the fight for justice” and showed “a deep passion and perseverance in pursuit of their mission, having achieved remarkable successes along the way.”

Mr. Giali co-leads Mayer Brown’s consumer class actions group and focuses his practice on defending consumer packaged goods companies against claims of false advertising and consumer deception, noted the NLJ. The publication highlighted several of Mr. Giali’s recent wins, including a first-ever conflict preemption dismissal in a food product labeling false advertising case (challenging Coffee-mate) and two landmark decisions imposing litigation stays in cases (against Chobani and KIND) challenging “all natural” labeling statements, which, in turn, have been instrumental in many other defendants obtaining stays in similar cases challenging “natural” statements.
