Mayer Brown was presented with the 2017 Anniversary Partner Award from Skills for Chicagoland’s Future (Skills) at the third annual Employment Champions Breakfast. Selected by the Skills’ board of directors each year, the award recognizes a partner that demonstrates invaluable support and advocacy behind the scenes, making it possible for Skills to deliver on its mission of getting the unemployed and underemployed back to work.
Since Skills’ inception, Mayer Brown has donated approximately 600 hours of pro bono service to provide guidance and counsel on a variety of issues, including governance and compliance, replication and expansion, contracts and workforce. “Mayer Brown serves as a model pro bono partner whose support allows Skills to impact the lives of thousands of unemployed and underemployed,” said Marie Trzupek Lynch, the president and CEO of Skills.
Launched in 2012, Skills is a public-private partnership working to match businesses that have current, unmet hiring needs with qualified, unemployed and underemployed job seekers in Cook County.
