Mayer Brown announced today that Intellectual Property partner Colleen Tracy James (New York) was named a “Woman to Watch” by American Intellectual Property Law Association’s (AIPLA) Women in IP Committee. “Through a peer-nomination process, the Women to Watch Series strives to honor women who have created their own paths, who lead through strong examples, and who are achieving successes as a result of their choices and leadership,” according to AIPLA.
With over 18 years of experience, Ms. James specializes in patent litigation for life sciences pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. In a profile, Women in IP Law AIPLA Committee Blog highlighted Ms. James’ numerous accomplishments as an IP litigator, including serving as lead trial counsel on behalf of the world’s largest innovators in the pharmaceutical field, which Ms. James considers to be her greatest professional achievement.
AIPLA’s Women in IP Law Committee focuses on developing substantive and relevant programming that focuses on and promotes women in IP law. In addition, the committee seeks to develop leadership opportunities within AIPLA for female members.
