London — Mayer Brown has once again been recognised as an employer leading the way in building flexible, family friendly UK workplaces. Employers large and small from many sectors compete annually to gain a place on the list of Top Employers for Working Families.

The list is compiled by work life balance charity Working Families. Employers answer in-depth questions and are scored on four key areas to build a comprehensive picture of their flexible and family friendly working environment. These are: integration which looks at culture, attitude and how far flexibility has become embedded; policy which looks at the creation, development and deployment of flexibility; consistent practice which considers how well flexibility is supported and measurement and results which looks at the effects of flexibility on the organisation, and their ability to understand those effects.

Mayer Brown has introduced a number of policies and practices to create a flexible, family friendly work environment, including agile working for all partners and staff, firm funded emergency childcare and family care, paid emergency leave and enhanced maternity and shared parental leave.

Annette Sheridan, Global Chief Human Resources Officer at Mayer Brown, said: “We are extremely proud to be named as one of the Top 30 Employers for Working Families. We recognise the need to enable our people to balance their home/family life whilst having a fulfilling and progressive career at the firm and we have a number of policies to support this, including agile working for all our people, firm funded emergency childcare or eldercare, a carers policy to support those with caring responsibilities, paid emergency leave and enhanced maternity and shared parental leave.
