Mayer Brown was named Children’s Law Center’s 2017 “Children’s Pro Bono Champion” at the annual Helping Children Soar Benefit. The firm has partnered with the organization for more than a decade to support Washington DC’s most vulnerable children and families.
“We are thrilled to name Mayer Brown as our 2017 Children’s Pro Bono Champion,” said Judith Sandalow, executive director of Children’s Law Center. “It takes a team to support DC’s children, and Mayer Brown is an integral part of that team. The firm’s dedication to our children ensures that they succeed in school and have a stable place to call home. Through this award, we express our deep gratitude to Mayer Brown for lending their time and talents to improving our community and inspiring others to do the same.”
With 100 lawyers, social workers and other staff, as well as hundreds of pro bono lawyers from Washington DC’s top law firms, Children’s Law Center helps more than 5,000 children and their families tackle seemingly insurmountable problems each year. As a result of its advocacy both in and out of the courtroom, more children are on the path to a better education, good health and a stable, loving family.
