London — Mayer Brown has been "commended" by the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Europe 2017 in the "New Products and Services" category for the development of its online Brexit risk assessment tool.

Named BRIMA™, the tool enables Mayer Brown clients to work in collaboration with lawyers at the firm to map their Brexit risks, identify response strategies and produce a prioritization plan. The tool was launched in 2016 and is understood to be the first of its kind in the legal sector.

The product was spearheaded by David Harrison, head of the European Antitrust & Competition team, who also leads the firm's Brexit Working Party.

The Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Europe is an innovation ranking report and awards for Europe-based lawyers. Over 1,000 submissions and nominations were received from law firms, legal services providers and in-house legal teams for 2017.
