Mayer Brown advised on the transaction that was named “Energy Deal of the Year (Over $1B)” at The M&A Advisor’s 2017 International M&A Awards, which recognize the “top international deals, dealmakers and firms conducting important transactions” around the globe.

Mayer Brown advised TransCanada Corporation in its acquisition of Columbia Pipeline Group, Inc., which owns, operates and develops a network of interstate natural gas pipelines extending from New York to the Gulf of Mexico, as well as storage and related midstream assets. Including the assumption of debt, the value of the transaction is approximately $13 billion. In connection with the transaction, Mayer Brown also represented TransCanada as US counsel on approximately $10.3 billion of committed acquisition credit facilities and a C$4.2 billion subscription receipts offering.
