Mayer Brown announced today that Washington DC partner Charles Hallab, chair of the firm’s Middle East practice, has been appointed to the board of directors of the US-Saudi Arabian Business Council (USSABC).

Representing one of 15 seats on the US portion of the board, Mr. Hallab serves alongside CEOs and other high-level leaders from multinational corporations in industries such as banking, oil and gas, defense, engineering and more. He is the sole lawyer serving on the board.

At Mayer Brown, Mr. Hallab manages a variety of corporate and commercial transactions inbound to, and outbound from, the Middle East, with a focus on Gulf Cooperation Council countries, including Saudi Arabia. He has represented over 100 US and multinational companies entering, partnering and/or expanding in the Middle East through corporate and commercial transactions and arrangements. Mr. Hallab is also co-leader of Mayer Brown’s Joint Venture & Strategic Alliances practice.
