The 2017 edition of World Trademark Review (WTR) 1000 recognized seven partners in Mayer Brown’s global Intellectual Property practice and awarded the firm a top tier ranking in Hong Kong in the Enforcement & Litigation and Prosecution & Strategy categories for the third consecutive year.

The seven partners were recognized in five jurisdictions for their capabilities and contributions. They are Gabriela Kennedy and Rosita Li (all Hong Kong); Michael Adams and Richard Assmus (both United States–Illinois); John Mancini (United States–New York); and Brian Winterfeldt (United States, United States–DC Metro Area).

Ranked as one of the top individuals in enforcement and litigation, Ms. Kennedy is described as “energetic and dynamic,” and she “knows how to secure favorable results in company name hijacking scenarios.” The guide calls Ms. Li an “effective tactician and a potent force in disputes.”

The “charming and charismatic” Mr. Winterfeldt, who ranked nationally in generic top-level domains and as one of the top individuals in prosecution and strategy, “knows everything related to the Internet” and “is extremely smart and hardworking, and willing to do anything for his clients.” Celebrated for the close relationships that he fosters with patrons, Mr. Adams is an “ever-growing leader within the International Trademark Association” and “one of the most knowledgeable and responsive attorneys out there.” WTR 1000 says Mr. Assmus “listens to priorities well and understands business needs,” executing his services in a way that is always appreciated by clients. Finally, Mr. Mancini, the co-leader of Mayer Brown’s global IP practice, is recognized for his “stellar track record representing some of the world’s biggest technology and consumer companies.”
