Paris - Bel Group and the management of MOM group, agreed in writing to undertake exclusive negotiations with LBO France, advised by Mayer Brown, with regard to the acquisition project by Bel Group of a majority stake in MOM group’s capital. The current management will remain a shareholder.

Holding the brands La Vache qui rit®, Kiri®, Mini Babybel®, Leerdammer® and Boursin®, Bel is the world leader in single-serving cheese portions. Bel Group sells its brands in nearly 130 countries.

MOM Group, substantially owned by LBO France since 2010, has recorded a strong business growth in France and in the United States. Relying on its historical brands Materne® and Mont Blanc® commercialized in France, MOM Group has created the fruit squeezers category and developed strong leadership positions with its Pom'Potes® and GoGosqueeZ® brands in both France and the United States. Over the past five years, MOM has doubled in size, achieving sales of €362 million in 2015. The company employs 1,300 people and owns four production sites (two in France and two in the United States). It aims to use its industrial know-how and capacity for innovation to gain international leadership positions through its brands.

The deal would enable Bel and MOM to become a major global player in the healthy snacks segment, founded on strong and innovative brands, and very highly complementary product ranges and territories.
