London - Mayer Brown is delighted to have advised on two transactions named "Deal of the Year" at the IJGlobal European & Africa Awards 2015. The awards, held on 10 March 2016 in London, recognise excellence, achievement and innovation from the world of energy and infrastructure finance.

The winning transactions were:

Europe – Refinancing Deal of the Year: A66
Mayer Brown advised Sociedad Concesionaria Autovía de la Plata on its offering of €184.5 million of project bonds to refinance a 49km stretch of the A66 motorway northwest of Madrid.

The Mayer Brown team was led by Banking & Finance partner Rob Flanigan and included partners Rachel Speight and James Taylor (all London).

Africa – Mining and Metals Deal of the Year: Yaramoko Gold
The firm also advised Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking and BNP Paribas as lenders in the US$75 million Senior Debt Facility made available to Roxgold Inc for the Yaramoko Gold Project in Burkina Faso, West Africa.

Ian Coles, head of the Africa and Mining practice, led the Mayer Brown team, which included Banking & Finance partners Rachel Speight and Christopher Arnold (both London), counsel Alban Dorin (Paris), senior associate Doye Balogun and associate Kunel Tanna (both London).
