Mayer Brown won the Ship Finance Award at the 8th Seatrade Maritime Awards Asia organised by Seatrade, the first for the firm. This recognition further reaffirms Mayer Brown’s reputation as the predominant law firm for shipping finance in the region.
The latest honour adds to the recent China Law & Practice 2015 award of International Firm of the Year in Shipping & Maritime, and to the string of accolades the firm’s shipping team has been getting over the years. The practice is ranked Band 1 for Shipping Finance (China) by Chambers Asia Pacific from 2008 to 2015 and Tier 1 for Asset Finance (Hong Kong) by Legal 500 Asia Pacific for four years since 2010.
Mayer Brown was also a finalist in the Maritime Law Award category. This is new ground as the maritime award traditionally goes to a London litigation practice.
The Seatrade Maritime Awards Asia is widely acknowledged as one of the region’s most prestigious in the shipping and maritime industry. Winners were selected based on their outstanding performance and achievements despite strong competition and operating conditions.
