Mayer Brown announced that it has obtained formal approval from The Law Society of Hong Kong to form an association with leading PRC law firm Jingtian & Gongcheng (“Jingtian”) in Hong Kong.
As part of this arrangement, Mayer Brown will provide office space and other resources to Jingtian in its Hong Kong office, and the two firms will collaborate in business development, training and provision of services to clients.
“Some of our partners have been cooperating with Jingtian’s partners for many years. This association formalizes our relationship and will facilitate even closer collaboration between the two firms. The clients of Jingtian will have access to the services of Mayer Brown’s global network, while Jingtian’s significant resources will supplement our capabilities in mainland China,” said Elaine Lo, Mayer Brown’s Senior Partner & Asia Chair.
“We are pleased to form this association with Jingtian, one of China’s most prestigious law firms,” said Mayer Brown Chairman Paul Theiss. “This is an important step for both firms that, above all, will benefit our clients.”
Jingtian & Gongcheng is one of the first private and independent law firm partnerships in China. Headquartered in Beijing, Jingtian has offices in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chengdu and Hong Kong. It is widely recognized as a leading business law firm in many practices, including capital markets, mergers & acquisitions, banking & finance, real estate and dispute resolution areas.
