Mayer Brown announced that Employment & Benefits partner Elizabeth (Liz) Espín Stern (Washington DC) has been named one of 75 “Outstanding Women Lawyers” by The National Law Journal. The list recognizes “the most accomplished female attorneys working in the legal profession today … [who] represent excellence in private practice, corporate counsel work, public interest representation, legal education and the judiciary.”
The NLJ noted Ms. Stern has used her “expertise and perspective on immigration issues” and her ability to handle “increasingly complex issues in the expanding global environment” in developing Mayer Brown’s “Global People Solution.” The new Mayer Brown practice offers multinational clients in a variety of sectors a comprehensive services and risk management program in connection with their mobile workforce. The publication also noted Ms. Stern is a member of the National Women's Law Center and the Institute for Inclusion in the Legal Profession.
The “Outstanding Women Lawyers” were selected from hundreds of nominations from around the country by NLJ editors, who considered factors such as the development of a successful practice, leadership and commitment to diversity in the legal profession.
