Mayer Brown LLP announced today that L. Kevin Sheridan Jr. has joined the firm as a partner in its Corporate & Securities Practice in New York. Previously, he was a partner with another leading law firm, and served as co-leader of Bingham McCutchen’s global corporate group in 2014 and 2013.

Kevin is a leading M&A and private equity lawyer who will complement our existing strengths in advising corporations, financial institutions and asset managers on strategic transactions and important investments,” said Philip O. Brandes, New York partner and co-leader of Mayer Brown’s global Corporate & Securities practice.

Mr. Sheridan has more than 25 years of experience in handling diverse transactional matters. He focuses on providing M&A, joint venture and other corporate advice to US and multinational businesses, including Japanese industrial and trading companies, private equity sponsors and financial services firms. He represents companies in a wide variety of industries, including asset management, shipping, transportation, infrastructure, chemicals, agribusiness, health care services and life sciences, among others.

This week, Mayer Brown’s New York office relocated to 1221 Avenue of the Americas. During the past three decades, the firm has grown its New York office significantly, making it Mayer Brown’s second largest US office.

In 2014, Mr. Sheridan was recognized by Global M&A Network as one of the “Top 50 Global M&A Lawyers” at the M&A Atlas Awards and has been ranked in Chambers USA, Chambers Global and Legal 500. He has served as faculty chair and faculty member for several Practicing Law Institute seminars. Mr. Sheridan sits on the Board of Trustees for the Convent of the Sacred Heart School of New York and on the Board of Trustees for the Adaptive Sports Foundation.

Mr. Sheridan earned a JD from the Fordham University School of Law and received a BA from the University of Virginia.
