Mayer Brown today announced that senior consultant Ian Chapman, a former partner, will now be co-located in the firm’s Bangkok and Hong Kong offices to further strengthen Mayer Brown's Southeast Asian Restructuring Bankruptcy and Insolvency practice (RBI).
Ian is one of the region’s leading insolvency lawyers with some 30 years’ experience in Asia. He has consistently been named a Tier 1 lawyer in the banking and restructuring fields by leading legal directories and as a “Senior Statesman” by Chambers Asia Pacific 2014.
John Marsden, RBI Firm Practice Leader said, “We are looking to Ian’s proven leadership and deal skills to assist resident partner Maythawee Sarathai in bolstering our traditional strengths in the Bangkok market and to expand our network coverage in Southeast Asia.”
Ian added, “I’m very pleased to be more regionally focussed and am looking forward to working with John and Khun Maythawee and promoting our RBI Asia platform. We’ve already brought back on board in Bangkok highly experienced RBI litigator, Pattanapong Srinarm and now have a very strong team across our core Asia RBI markets with which to grow the practice further.”
Recent high profile matters on which Mayer Brown’s international RBI team has been engaged on include:
