Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, announced that Intellectual Property partners Lisa Ferri and Terri Gillis (both New York) have been named finalists in the “Intellectual Property: Hatch-Waxman (Branded) Litigator of the Year” category of the 2014 LMG Life Sciences Awards sponsored by Euromoney Legal Media Group (LMG). In addition, Mayer Brown has been named a finalist in the “Intellectual Property: Hatch-Waxman (Branded) Litigation Team of the Year” category. The awards honor the best life sciences practitioners and firms over the last 12 months from the United States, Canada and Europe.

Ms. Ferri, who leads Mayer Brown’s Intellectual Property practice in New York, focuses her practice on the trial and appeal of patent and other complex intellectual property matters with particular emphasis in the life sciences field. She serves as lead counsel on behalf of high-profile companies in federal courts across the country, Patent Office Inter Partes reviews, the International Trade Commission and the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms. Ferri is an adjunct professor of law at Fordham University School of Law, where she teaches patent litigation.

Ms. Gillis has nearly 40 years of experience in all aspects of intellectual property law and has both trial and appellate experience, including significant jury trial experience. Holder of a degree in chemistry, she has represented diverse technology and industrial clients in a variety of courts regarding patent infringement, enforceability, misuse and validity, copyright infringement and validity, trademark infringement and dilution, unfair competition and trade secrets. She also has substantial experience counseling clients on IP strategy and acquisitions. Ms Gillis served as president of the New York Intellectual Property Law Association in 2011-12.
