Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, announced that Corporate & Securities partner Christian Fabian was named to the Emerging Leaders Class of 2016 of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, an independent, non-partisan organization committed to educating the public and influencing the public discourse on global issues. Mr. Fabian is among 22 individuals who were selected for the two-year program from a competitive pool of candidates at various business and philanthropic organizations. The Council noted that the Emerging Leaders represent “the best and the brightest new leaders in the city” and will “help Chicago compete and thrive in the global era.”

The Class of 2016 will spend the first year of the program examining key global issues that affect the world and Chicago’s global future. The second year, they will work in small groups with Chicago Council staff to define, develop and produce policy papers on pressing global challenges.

Mr. Fabian focuses his practice on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and corporate and securities law matters. He represents purchasers and sellers of domestic and international businesses in complex public and private mergers, tender offers, stock and asset acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and strategic alliances. He advises clients regarding recapitalizations, private equity investments, private placements of securities and other corporate finance matters, as well as corporate governance and securities law matters.
