Frankfurt/Düsseldorf – Leading global law firm Mayer Brown has appointed Guido Zeppenfeld (46) as Partner-in-Charge of the firm’s German practice that encompasses offices in Frankfurt and Düsseldorf. Mr. Zeppenfeld is a co-leader of the firm’s global Employments & Benefits practice and heads the practice in Germany. He succeeds Jörg Wulfken (53), who has held the position of Partner-in-Charge for the last six years. Mr. Wulfken steps down to devote his attention to his practice and his global management responsibilities as a member of Mayer Brown’s firmwide Management Committee and Asia Board. As a partner in the firm’s German Banking & Finance practice, he is particularly known for his work in the area of non-performing loan transactions, advising sellers, investors and financiers.

Mr. Zeppenfeld advises and represents national and international client organizations in connection with all legal matters regarding the management of human capital, including employment law, restructuring and reorganization measures, executive compensation, employee incentives, benefits and company pension schemes as well as employee data privacy. Additional core areas of his professional experience are compliance reviews and the implementation of compliance measures as well as advising in connection with national and international transactions, in particular (out) sourcing deals, privatizations and M&A transactions. Mr. Zeppenfeld is recognized as recommended lawyer by legal industry guides, including Juve, Chambers and Legal 500. The German employment team encompassing seven lawyers has been nominated as “Law Firm of the Year for Employment Law” by German legal industry publishing house Juve.
