London - Mayer Brown has been appointed as legal adviser on two of the Pensions Protection Funds (PPF) newly-created legal panels following a comprehensive competitive tendering process.

The firm has been appointed to the insolvency and corporate panel to advise PPF on its recoveries from insolvent employers and the specialist and reserve panel for our US capabilities.

Mayer Brown was one of several firms to have been appointed following a review, which has seen the former 27 firm legal panel reduced to 23 for a term of three years.

Edward Jewitt, pensions partner at Mayer Brown, said: "Everyone in the Mayer Brown pensions team is extremely pleased to have been appointed to join these two legal panels and we look forward to working with PPF team over the next three years."
