Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, announced today that partner Geofrey Master has returned to the firm’s Washington, DC office from Hong Kong, where he had been leading Mayer Brown’s Business & Technology Sourcing group in Asia since October 2009.

“Geof has done an exemplary job of building Mayer Brown’s information technology and business process sourcing practice in Asia, and he will maintain his involvement in the region from the Washington, DC office,” said Dan Masur, Washington, DC partner and co-leader of Mayer Brown’s global Business & Technology Sourcing group. “Geof gained significant insights regarding the legal environment and sourcing industry in Asia, making him a unique resource for clients headquartered in the United States that are interested in developing capabilities in Asia as part of a global sourcing program.”

Mr. Master has a wide range of experience in sourcing transactions, including the outsourcing and offshoring of information technology and business processes as well as support for supply chain and procurement of services and products. Prior to joining Mayer Brown in 2001, he served as the International General Counsel of Electronic Data Systems, a prominent outsourcing provider.

“Mayer Brown’s integrated global platform is well-suited to the international nature of business and sourcing transactions and I look forward to continue serving client needs in Asia, including work with our clients’ US-based, Asia-focused organizations,” said Mr. Master. “The rising importance of Asia makes local sensitivity and insight all the more important, especially in global transactions.”

Mr. Master received an LLM degree from New York University, a JD degree from The University of Texas School of Law, and MPA and BA degrees from The University of Texas at Austin.
