22 November 2011 – Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, announced that its Tax practice is ranked in seven jurisdictions – Brussels, Chicago, London, New York, Palo Alto, Paris and Washington, DC – in “World Tax 2012,” a comprehensive guide to the world’s leading tax firms, lawyers and advisers published by International Tax Review.

Regarding the firm’s Tier 1 ranking in Chicago, the publication says, “The firm is still one of most respected tax firms in Chicago and maintained their presence in the market over the past year.” The publication quoted a leading tax specialist as saying, “Mayer Brown is a fantastic tax controversy firm.”

Selection criteria for the tiered rankings consisted of positive feedback from peers and clients, with a particular emphasis on ingenuity and innovation in work completed from the last year.

Earlier this year, Mayer Brown’s Tax Controversy practice was recognized by both Chambers USA and Legal 500 US with their highest rankings for the fifth consecutive year. International Tax Review also named Mayer Brown the “Chicago Tax Firm of the Year” at the 2011 Americas Tax Awards.
