Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, announced today that its Supreme Court & Appellate practice has been named as one of the best in the country by a leading legal publication.
In the fourth annual edition of its prestigious “Appellate Hot List,” The National Law Journal (NLJ) recognized Mayer Brown’s stellar record in appellate advocacy. The article, published in today’s issue of the NLJ, noted that the Appellate Hot List “recognizes firms that made exemplary contributions to appellate practice during the past year.” Mayer Brown has been selected to the list in each of the four years it has been compiled.
In its overview of Mayer Brown’s accomplishments, the NLJ said that “Mayer Brown’s 55-member appellate group has served as counsel of record in multiple key precedents, including landmark rulings limiting the liability of third parties in securities class actions and limiting punitive damages.” The publication also highlighted three of the firm's most significant wins from the past year: In re Medtronic Inc., Sprint Fidelis Leads Products Liability Litigation; Arkema Inc. v. Environmental Protection Agency; and In re WestPoint Stevens Inc.
