Tauil & Chequer Advogados, in association with Mayer Brown LLP, represented Ecopistas on its first public offering of debentures, non-convertible into shares, for a total amount of R$370 million (US$217 million) in the Brazilian local market. The debentures are secured by the pledge of shares of Ecopistas owned by Ecorodovias and by the assignment of Ecopistas receivables, as collateral.
Ecopistas is the Brazilian concessionaire responsible for the management and administration of highways connecting São Paulo with the Paraíba Valley, known as the Ayrton Senna and Carvalho Pinto corridor.
The deal was closed on March 23, 2011 and the proceeds will be used to repay existing debts.
The Tauil & Chequer team consisted of partner Carlos Motta and associates Lea Futami Yassuda, Caio Cossermelli, Stephanie Pepe, Amanda Alves and Giovanna Modolin.Stay up-to-date on our perspectives
