16 July, 2010 – Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, announced today that Washington, D.C. partner Jeff Davis and Houston partner Rob Goldberg have been named co-leaders of the firm’s global Renewable Energy Group. These partners will help lead the expansion of the group in this growing segment of the energy industry.
“Renewable energy is a key priority in the U.S. and around the globe, and Mayer Brown is well positioned to succeed in this sector because of our deep experience and global platform,” said Mr. Davis, who is an authority on the financing of tax credit-eligible renewable energy projects. “I look forward to working with our partners to continue to grow this group.”
Mayer Brown has recently enhanced its presence in renewable energy project development and finance by attracting a number of new lateral partners with significant experience in this field. In addition to Mr. Goldberg, who joined the firm in May 2009, they include Paul Astolfi in Chicago, George Miller in New York, Jose Valera in Houston and Christopher Erckert in Washington, D.C.
“Because of the environmental benefits, job creation and energy security, we anticipate substantial continued growth and investment in renewable energy projects,” said Mr. Goldberg, who focuses his practice on domestic and international project finance work, including renewable energy transactions. “The Mayer Brown team is ready to help our clients move forward in all aspects of renewable project development and finance.”
