6 May 2010 – Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, has been recognized as one of the 2010 Top Ten Family-Friendly Law Firms by Yale Law Women, Yale Law School’s student organization devoted to promoting the interests of women in law school and the legal profession. Mayer Brown was one of only four firms that also made the list in 2009.

Yale Law Women surveyed firms from the 2009 Vault "Top 100 Law Firms" list and selected firms who are leaders in developing and practicing family friendly policies for attorneys.  Innovative policies pioneered by firms on the list include work-family balance groups, on-site childcare and part-time work schedules.

Family-friendly programs offered to Mayer Brown’s US lawyers include:  part-time work opportunities;  back-up child care service; 18 weeks of  paid maternity and parental leave for new and adoptive parents; and a coaching program to provide support to new parents returning to work from maternity, paternity, and adoption leave.  In addition, Mayer Brown is a founding member and sponsor of the Project for Attorney Retention, which works to stem lawyer attrition at large firms by promoting work/life balance and the advancement of women in the legal profession.
