13 January 2010 – Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, announced today that Elizabeth Mann has joined the Los Angeles office as a partner in the Litigation practice. Ms. Mann joins the firm from McDermott Will & Emery, where she concentrated her practice on complex litigation matters.

Ms. Mann has extensive experience litigating cases in a wide array of areas including health care, antitrust, real estate, investment finance, environmental, regulatory and class actions. She has handled cases involving biologic marketing strategies, financial advisory services, fiduciary duty claims involving banks and trusts, government investigations, long-distance telephone services, toxic torts and RICO claims.
Ms. Mann also has unique expertise representing and advising managed care entities and alcohol companies in regulatory matters, from substantive regulations to tax issues. Additionally, she’s handled matters involving libel and trade secrets and has represented clients in patent disputes concerning interactive television, the manufacture of intraocular lenses and PVC liners used to restore underground pipes.
Some of her major clients include Amgen, American Specialty Health, Diageo North America, EON A.G., Extended Stay America, Santa Fe Christian Schools, Humana and McDonald’s.

Ms. Mann is very active in the Los Angeles legal community. She serves as the Chair-Elect of the Executive Committee of the Litigation Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and she was instrumental in securing the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles’ 2007 Pro Bono “Law Firm of the Year” award with her representation of several immigrant families against “slum lords.”
Ms. Mann received an undergraduate degree from Pomona College and a JD from the University of California – Los Angeles School of Law.
