Leading international law firm Mayer Brown LLP announced the appointment of attorney-at-law and tax consultant Dr. Petra Eckl to strengthen its tax practice in Germany. She is currently a partner with Haarmann in Frankfurt and will join Mayer Brown on 1 October 2008. She is the third new partner to join Mayer Brown in Germany in 2008 and follows Dr. Benedikt Weiser (Frankfurt) and Ralf Schnaittacher (Cologne).

Petra Eckl specialises in giving advice on tax law issues in national and international M&A transactions or joint ventures. She provides counsel on restructurings as well as the implementation and structuring of funds. Furthermore, Petra Eckl has considerable experience in tax litigation. Since early 2007, she has been teaching Corporate Tax Law at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt.
